CALL FOR ENTRIES 2012

Participate in the 16th edition of the BARCELONA INTERNATIONAL AUDIOVISUAL FESTIVAL in November 2012.

We invite directors, screenwriters, producers, and students to submit their audiovisuals for all ages. Any type of audiovisual will be entered into pre-selection with photochemical or electronic media support. The audiovisuals competing for the UNICEF prize should contain certain humanitarian values which favor democratic coexistence and growth of social citizenry, especially directed toward children or about childhood.

THEME: Children and youth - values that favor coexistence - all genres

-Productions for children and youth, productions about children and/or those that deal with childhood issues
-Productions made by children or teens in a framework of media literacy
-Productions made by students in audiovisual schools or universities
-Productions of general subject matter, for all audiences, that contain values and favor coexistence.

As in previous years, we are particularly interested in audiovisuals and that not only entertain but also educate and teach. The prestigious HUMANITARIAN and CREATIVE prize categories will be awarded.

Included this year:
-Professional Area, organized by the Association of Audiovisual Professionals of Catalunya (CPAC)
-Visit to the CaixaForum Mediatheque and CaixaForum exhibits
-Workshop and feature films in the afternoon.

CALL FOR ENTRIES 2011

The Barcelona International Audiovisual Festival (FIAB) would like to invite directors of all ages to submit children and youth productions and participate in the 15th edition to be held in November, 2011.

We are interested in documentaries, animations, TV programmes, series and video-games from around the world, which not only entertain but also ideally educate and form the young viewer by promoting values that favor coexistence, respect, solidarity and friendship. Since this year's theme is music, we are especially interested in materials linked to it and focusing strongly on the musical background.

Genre: Children and youth - All public

* Productions for children & young people about children's issues.

* Productions made by young children within a framework of media literacy.

* Productions made by students from schools or universities.

* Productions for all ages, containing values that promote coexistence.

This is a unique media and educational opportunity for filmmakers and production companies from all over the world to showcase their work in Spain and share it with enthusiastic young audiences and media professionals. Every year we collaborate with educators so that groups of school children get to see a wide range of international films that are 90 minutes or less, that they may not otherwise be able to access. We request that films that are not in Spanish be subtitled in Spanish or English.

As with previous years, there is no entry fee and we offer the prestigious UNICEF PRIZE and CREATIVE PRIZE.

Following up last year’s edition, where our efforts to launch new activities in the Festival met with success and were very much enjoyed by an enthusiastic audience, we will embrace them in FIAB 2011 as well.

These new activities consist of:

- Audience Award - Public Mention, where young viewers have the opportunity to vote for their favourite film.

- Professional area, organized by the Catalonian Association of Audiovisual Professionals (CPAC) that awards the Professional Mention.

- Video games to be played every morning. Participants are encouraged to play non-violent and educational games with values to be learned on PCs and Xboxes in the Art, Music and Media documentation Library of CaixaFòrum.

- Guided visit to the Media Library of CaixaFòrum, located just in front of the CaixaForum Auditorium.

CALL FOR ENTRIES FITB 2009

DEADLINE FOR INSCRIPTION: May 31, 2009

We invite directors of all ages to submit your children and youth productions and participate in the 13th edition of the Barcelona International Television Festival (FITB) to be held November 10- 12, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 13 p.m. and from 15p.m. to 18p.m., with the closing ceremony the 13th.

As always we are interested in documentaries, animations, TV programmes and series from around the World that form, entertain and educate. There is no entry fee and we offer the prestigious UNICEF PRIZE and CREATIVE PRIZE. Screenings incluye productions the Audiovisual Service of the Department of Education of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia and the SHOWCASE OF NEWS BULLETINS, COMMERCIALS AND FICTION VIDEOS from the Blanquerna School, Ramón LLull University.

This is a good opportunity for filmmakers and production companies to showcase their work in Spain and share it with enthusiastic young audiences along with media professionals. We request that films that are not in Spanish be subtitled in Spanish or English.
