News on Children, Youth and Media in the World No. 2, 2009, from the International Clearinghouse on Children, Youth and Media is now available on the web site: http://www.nordicom.gu.se/clearinghouse.php

This issue includes articles on e.g. youth fandom and their international networks, research on preferences of information design on Internet by Spanish youth, a presentation of the world children's radio network Radijojo, a Special Section with news from the US and more. It is our hope that the newsletter will offer interesting reading!

The Clearinghouse would like to thank all the contributors to this newsletter! We look forward to receive contributions or other input to coming issues - brief notices and articles (about 700-800 words), tips and reports about conferences and literature etc. regarding children, youth and media. Issue no. 1, 2010 will be published in May-June and deadline for contributions is May 15.

The Youth Times Newspaper Speaks Volumes

Although much of the current international and local news in the Occupied Palestinian Territory is focused on violence and conflict, there is different, yet just as important, reporting happening on the ground in the region - reporting from a distinctly youth perspective.

The Youth Times newspaper, a project of the Palestinian Youth Association for Leadership and Rights Activation (PYALARA), is a monthly 24-page newspaper published in Arabic and English by young people, for young people. This month, we feature PYALARA and The Youth Times, an initiative that develops young people aged 13-20 into leaders while providing both Palestinian and international audiences vital stories that speak across borders.
