The OneMinutesJr is a successful UNICEF project that bundles creative film making ideas and meaningful messages in powerful 60-second videos produced entirely by the young people themselves. Through the participatory approach of the training, the youngsters learn both the theory and the practical part of making a movie.
Putting young people in the frame - UNICEF / Chris Schuepp / 2014
The workshop starts with mutual introductions and from the beginning it is clear that there is a lot of work to do, because the goal is to have 16 films ready at the end of the fifth day of the training. That is 16 different story ideas, 16 times x locations and even more scenes to be shot and then all the editing at the end - quite a mountain, but it can be scaled and the enthusiasm of the participants will go a long way.
