EVENTS: The effects of media on children and young adults

The effects of media on children and young adults – 26-28 September 2011

‘The effects of media on children and young adults’ is an international conference, organised every second year since 1998 by the International Children Safety Service (ICSS) and the National Media and Infocommunications Authority of Hungary (NMHH). The conference will take place 26-28 September 2011 at the Ramada Hotel Lake Balaton (Balatonalmádi, Hungary).

The rapid change in media usage and in the content formation of it makes it difficult to research and analyse the phenomenon. Therefore the aim of the conference is to welcome and introduce the most recent issues and publications and strengthen the interdisciplinary approach of the subject.

Similarly to earlier traditions, the intention is to focus on a few different aspects of the relation between media and the young population listed as follows:

• Content – Effect – Education. Linear contents.
• Content – Effect – Education. Non-linear contents.
• Regulation and ethics.
