Annual Summer Programme to open on 29 June

Dubai Press Club today announced registration has commenced for the ninth edition of Kids Press Club, the annual summer media programme for children. The three week programme that starts from 29 June at the Dubai Press Club premises in Dubai Media City, will enrol 25 children in the 10 - 15 year age group.

Organized in association with several prominent media organizations, including Al Arabiyya TV, the Arab Media Group, and SAE institute, Kids Press Club 2008 will host a series of specialized workshops on animation, photography, news writing and editing, and techniques to conduct press interviews and organize a press conference. Participants will also be offered expert guidance on ways to critically review a film. A highlight of this year's programme will be an exclusive line-up of interactive sessions organized in cooperation with UNICEF.

Maryam Bin Fahd, Executive Director, Dubai Press Club, said: "This year, prominent media organizations will add a whole new dimension to Kids Press Club. The programme reflects our strategy to raise children's awareness about the media and invest in educating them at an early stage on the merits and components of the industry. In the process, we would like to reiterate the potential of the media sector as a good career option."

Kids Press Club 2008 will also provide children with an opportunity to visit key media organizations and interact with outstanding journalists and media personalities.
