Media regulation needed to help parenting
More safe places and better media regulation are needed to help parents bring up their children, a study has concluded.
The report, which was produced for the Department for Children, Schools and Families, found that parents struggle to balance the need for children to have freedom with concerns about their safety.
Parents felt that they could not allow their children the freedom they had enjoyed as children without putting their offspring at risk of harm or negative influences. They were also concerned that popular culture is potentially damaging.
