Fellowship for young journalists highlights democracy

Young journalists from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan,
Moldova, Russia and Ukraine can apply for the John Smith Fellowship
Program. Deadline: November 23.

The program aims to recruit young leaders to strengthen their countries'
futures. Winning fellows will be young leaders age 25 to 35. Applicants
should be influential, young leaders in areas such as journalism,
government, politics or law. Candidates must demonstrate concern for
good government and democratic values. Good written and English skills
are necessary.

The fellowship covers all travel, lodging, meals and other costs
associated with participation in the program. No provision is made for
