BBC Training & Development for Broadcast
Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007
Aspiring journalists should thank our friends on the other side of the pond for some more free training. The BBC has created some free online courses for broadcast. The site primarily is for folks working with the BBC, but we think it was mighty nice of them to share it with others.
The course list includes shooting, lighting, using DV cameras, video production and sound mixing -- to name a few. Most courses are relatively short and take about an hour, although there are one or two that take a bit more time.
We completed the Microphones for Sound and Radio course. It was very informative and interactive and even offered a printable transcript, so we can keep the info handy without having to revisit the course every time.
Based on the course we took, we give this site a thumbs up on simplifying and explaining some otherwise intimidating technology.
You'll find the complete course list here: http://www.bbctraining.com/onlineCourses.asp
