EU Launches Youth Campaign for Tolerance in Multiethnic Macedonia
01 December 2005
| Yesterday, November 30, the EU announced the start of a nationwide campaign to support youth activities and promote tolerance in Macedonia under the banner ?together for youth?. The EU will provide ?900,000 over the next 18 months for the project, which is managed by the European Agency for Reconstruction. ?Youth projects are very important for a country already on its way to reaching European standards and values,? said Macedonia?s Prime Minister Vlado Buckovski today at the campaign launch in Skopje. ?This campaign is an excellent opportunity to show the full potential of our young generation and to ?Europeanise? it in its way of thinking and acting.? The media campaign will include television spots, billboards, posters, brochures and other materials. The target audience will be young people aged 15?24, and it will spotlight real people and the most pressing issues faced by the country?s youth. |
