TASHKENT, 30 September 2014 - The ‘Kuch Birlikda’ (Power in Unity) edutainment TV series recently launched in Uzbekistan, and the related public information campaign to be conducted into 2015, are two means through which UNICEF is working to establish and promote quality children’s television in the Central Asian nation.

Developed together with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the show and its associated website, public screenings, and planned DVDs and accompanying TV programmes, aim not only to provide young people with information about what their rights are, but also to empower them to make sure their rights are promoted and recognised. This outcome is particularly important in 2014, which is both the 20th Anniversary of UNICEF in Uzbekistan, and the 25th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
