OPPORTUNITIES: Childnet International Film Competition 2011 – promoting positive uses of the internet

Following the success of last year's challenge, Childnet International (a partner in the UK Safer Internet Centre) has launched its 2011 Film Challenge. Childnet is inviting all schools and youth organisations in the UK to enter the challenge by creating a 60 second film promoting the positives of the internet. Two separate categories are in place for primary- and secondary-aged children – the theme for primary schools is "What does the internet mean to you?" while the secondary theme focuses on "A day in my digital life".

All shortlisted finalists will be invited to a private screening of their film with the competition judging panel at a cinema in London, and will be awarded some fantastic prizes.

Further information is available from the Childnet International website, while registrations of interest can be made by emailing film@childnet.com. The competition closes on 6 June 2011.

Winning films from the 2010 Film Challenge can also be viewed on the Childnet International website.
