RADIO / PROJECTS / AFRICA: UNICEF Donates Radio Equipment To 14 Radio Staions Across The Country (SIERRA LEONE)

The United Nations Children Funds (UNICEF) has donated four giga bytes recorders, CDrom and batteries to the management of Eastern radio FM 101.9 to enhance the broadcasting of children’s programme on the radio.

Formally presenting the items to the station manager Ahmed G. Kallon at Eastern radio conference room in Kenema city the UNICEF Communication officer Issa Davies says the donation was in fulfillment of the promise made by UNICEF in order to support them in the implementation of children’s programmes at the station. He said Eastern radio has been successful in broadcasting children’s programme in the region through which he says children are given the opportunity to make their voices heard on the radio. He revealed that the donation is to benefit 14 radio stations across the country including Eastern radio and 13 others in the country.
