OPPORTUNITIES / AWARDS: PLURAL + 2010 Youth Audience Award

On the occasion of the International Year of Youth on Dialogue and Mutual Understanding, the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and the International Organization for Migration is calling on youth from all over the world to vote for their favorite video as part of the PLURAL + 2010 Youth Video Festival.

Background on PLURAL + Video Festival

Recognizing youth as powerful agents of social change in a world often characterized by intolerance, cultural and religious divisions, PLURAL+ is aimed at involving youth in addressing the key challenges in their communities related to migrant integration, inclusiveness, identity, diversity, human rights and social cohesiveness. In early March 2010 PLURAL+ called for entries, inviting young media makers from 9 to 25 years of age to submit their short videos sharing their thoughts and suggestions on the topics mentioned above.

A pre-selection committee identified 46 finalist videos (up to 5 minutes each) from which 3 winning videos will be selected by an International Jury composed of renowned film makers and young leaders. Additional awards will be given by PLURAL + Partner Organizations.

PLURAL + Youth Audience Award

In addition to the International Jury and Partners awards, there will a PLURAL + Youth Audience Award. Youth 25 years old or younger from around the world are invited to vote for their favorite video. The video with the most votes will receive the PLURAL + Youth Audience Award. The awarded video will receive a Flip Camera.
