OPPORTUNITIES / CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Competition seeks children's science news submissions (GLOBAL)

An international award competition is seeking submissions of Children's Science News from journalists worldwide across all news media. Applications due: August 1.

The U.S.-based 2010 AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Awards are also accepting U.S. submissions in the following categories: Large Newspaper, Small Newspaper, Magazine, Television - Spot News/Feature Reporting, Television - In-depth Reporting, Radio, and Online.

Each category winner will receive US$3,000, to be presented at the AAAS Annual Meeting in February 2011 in Washington, DC. AAAS will cover travel and lodging expenses for one winner in each category.
