by Ourouba Hussein

The Childhood Cultural Centre’s (CCC) “Mediaperson of the Future” programme has promised diverse media activities ranging from establishing a radio station to the launch of a magazine, all run by children.

CCC general director Abdulla al-Jumaili said that the programme focused on four main pillars: exploring, attracting, refining and later employing talents to serve its goals. The official pointed out to the creative intiatives presented by the children participating in the programme, saying that it was what prompted the CCC to provide more training courses to them.

“The so-called social networks and virtual worlds, which threaten many children, have formed a challenge to us,” he stated, noting that the programme was to recruit talent in various media ventures.
Al-Jumaili pointed out that the CCC would provide a daily newspaper to children as well as a number of radio programmes and open forums and other projects.

He explained that the magazine would feature stories written by children in the 4 to 18 age group.
