WAM ABU DHABI, Dec. 9th, 2009: Anasy Media Production - Anasy Documentary Awards (ADA) signed a letter of intent with United Nation Children Foundation (UNICEF). The goal of such a long-term cooperation is to raise public awareness on child and youth rights issues and to provide opportunities to youth for active participation at the regional and international in the industry of documentary filmmaking.
The Minister of Health - H.E. Dr. Hanif Hasan has signed on behalf of H.E Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific research and Mrs. Sigrid Kaag, UNICEF regional director for the Middle East and North Africa, yesterday morning before the launching of the second session of ADA press conference.
ADA and UNICEF Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa agreed to join efforts and expand the scope of the award to the regional and international arena.
Anasy Media Production - Anasy Documentary Awards (ADA) signed separately a cooperation agreement aiming to include a topic on child rights in the official documentary competition and a new category dedicated to youth, encouraging them to produce a one minute documentary. A workshop will be organized for youth between the ages of 12 to 18.
