Charities encourage young people to promote positive images

Two youth charities have devised tips on how to involve young people in campaigning for positive images in the media following their own success.
YouthNet and the British Youth Council launched the Respect? Campaign in 2005 after research showed that young people were increasingly concerned about their negative portrayal in the media and politics.
An evaluation published today includes 13 tips, distilled from what the charities have learned. These include making sure that young people know what's in it for them, recruiting a diverse group and making it easy to get involved.
