LAVCOX research contest for adolescent communicators

Entries will be accepted until the October 5, 2009

UNICEF, SONY, SONICO, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Albatros Foundation, invite young journalists across Latin America and the Caribbean to participate in the LACVOX Research Contest.

The Judges will evaluate the entries’ research, treatment of the information, originality and creativity in the coverage of the environmental theme within the indigenous context.

Prizes – The winners will receive prizes from Sony which include: digital cameras, video recorders, tape recorders and a flat screen LCD TV and a book about the environment donated by the Albatros Foundation, plus a diploma.

Theme – What can we learn from the traditional ways of environmental conservation practiced for centuries by the indigenous people?

Who may participate – Children and adolescents between the ages of 9 and 18 who are citizens and residents of the Latin American and Caribbean Region. Participants may enroll as school teams, or participate individually or as groups.

Languages – Entries may be in English, Spanish or Portuguese.
