Kurt Turns Evil In Oslo

November 25, 2008

Half a dozen prominent Nordic filmmakers and the award-winning cinematographer Slawomir Idziak (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) are taking part in a two-day seminar about Children's films at Oslo's Film House this Thursday 27 and Friday 28.

Under the title ‘The Unlimited Universe', the event intends to help Nordic filmmakers and professionals explore new ways of telling children and youth stories and film them with innovative techniques. Among the top filmmakers on hand are Sweden's Tomas Alfredson (Let the Right One In), Iceland's Ari Kristinsson (No Network), Norway's Rasmus Syvertsen (Kurt Turns Evil - photo), Jesper W. Nielsen (Through the Glass, Darkly) and Finland's Kari Juusonen (Niko all the Way to the Stars).

The Nordic Children's Film Seminar is supported by the five Nordic film institutes and Nordisk Film & TV Fond. The first event took place in Stockholm in 2006 and the second one in Helsinki last year.
