UNICEF Launches Global Conversation With Video From mDialog

J8 Web Platform Brings Young People's Voices to G8

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - June 24, 2008) -

NEWS FACTS:

mDialog has joined forces with UNICEF to bring its easy-to-use video platform with social interaction features to UNICEF's Junior 8 (J8) program. mDialog's tools and services are being incorporated into UNICEF's newly launched J8 web platform at www.j8summit.com, where young people from all over the world can have a say in the Group of 8 (G8) Summit through social networking features and interactive video and discussion forums.

The J8 culminates in an annual summit attended by a select group of young people from G8 and other countries. The Summit is the parallel youth event to the annual G8 Summit, where leaders from eight major industrialized democracies (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States) meet to discuss global issues.

The J8 web platform allows for a larger community of young people to participate in the J8, adding their voices and sharing their solutions with G8 leaders and the world community.

mDialog's technology will power the J8 video platform, encouraging young people's participation through social video features including commenting, chatting and collaborating. There is also an embed function for easier video sharing.

Social Video Features Increase Engagement and Expand Awareness for J8 Issues

-- In addition to the written essay submission process, many participants created video submissions to share their views on the 2008 J8 issues, which relate to climate change, global health, and poverty and development. -- Select participant videos are available on the J8 website. Through mDialog's comment, chat and contribution social video features, viewers from around the world can view videos then share immediate feedback to express their own views on the issues. -- Additionally, 2008 J8 participants from the G8 countries (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the US and the UK) and developing countries will have the opportunity to shoot footage documenting their daily lives and relating to J8 topics. This video will also be available for viewing and global discussion on the J8 website. -- This year's J8 participants will meet with G8 leaders as part of the annual J8 Summit, to be held in Chitose, Japan on July 2-9, 2008. Videos produced by participants documenting their Summit experiences will be available for public viewing following the event. Additionally, UNICEF- produced videos capturing Summit events and highlights will be loaded onto the J8 website. -- What would you say to world leaders? This section of the J8 website features an mDialog-moderated video discussion between young people and G8 leaders. Viewers are also encouraged to participate and collaborate using social video features as well as by contributing their own videos using mDialog's mLoader software, which ensures easy encoding and uploading.

In addition to working with mDialog, the J8 platform is tapping the energy of the 50,000 strong Voices of Youth (http://www.unicef.org/voy/discussions/j8login.html) community. Voices of Youth members will be able to connect to Summit participants and other young people around the world interested in G8 issues.
