Indigenous youth make their voices heard at global caucus
By Moni SulemaniNEW YORK, USA, 2 June 2008 – At the seventh session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, held in New York in April, the youngest generation of indigenous people from around the world came together as one body to highlight the problems they face.
That body – the Indigenous Youth Caucus – comprises young people from various states, organizations, and socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. They dedicated each of the UN forum’s 14 days to discussions of various issues of concern to indigenous youths.
