OPPORTUNITIES / TRAINING: YAC Free Online Course on Women's Rights - Open Call -

Youth Action for Change (YAC) would like to invite you to apply for our upcoming free online course on ‘Women’s Rights’. Amnesty International and its experts will provide content and support to the
participants throughout the course.

Dates: March 10th – April 7th 2008 (please note that for Russian speakers the dates will be slightly different)

Number of Participants: 50 in total

Languages:

Course Overview:

Module1 (March 10th-16th) - Introduction to Women’s Rights

  • History of Women’s rights movements- 3 waves of feminism: Votes for women, Women’s liberation movement, Feminism of today
  • Women’s Rights as Human Rights
  • Documents on Women’s and Human Right (with emphasison Women’s Rights) and related documents

Module 2 (March 17th – 23rd) - Reaching equality and equity for Women

  • Discrimination
  • Gender Equality
  • Protection

Module 3 (March 24th – March 30th) - Violence against Women
  • Gender based violence and domestic violence
  • Trafficking in Human Beings
  • Protection
Module 4 (March 31st – April 7th) - Women’s Rights Activism and empowerment of women
  • Women’s empowerment tool kit
  • Women’s movements, organizations and groups
  • Campaigns, advocacy, actions, etc.

Each module will be complemented by side activities and chats with experts.
