Workshops, lectures complement Al-Jana cinema showcase

BEIRUT: The arts, audiovisual media in particular, have several flavors and functions - ranging from decorative entertainment to the avant-garde and from the political to the pedagogical. Having just devoted itself to a few days of avant-garde work with Video Avril, Masrah al-Madina is this week turning itself over to engaged pedagogy with the International Film Festival for Children and Youth (IFFCY), organized by Al-Jana, the Arab Resource Center for Popular Arts.
