PUBLICATIONS: Publication to analyze newspaper coverage of development issues (BRAZIL)

Publication to analyze newspaper coverage of development issues

Based on research in 58 Brazilian newspapers, the News Agency for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (ANDI, in Portuguese) will release a book that analyses the press coverage of sustainable development.

The book ?Challenges in Sustainability: Social Technology on the focus of Brazilian newspapers? will be presented during an event scheduled for December 7. ANDI defines ?social technology? as the products, techniques or methodologies that engage the community in the implementation of development. For example, technology may be used to improve nutrition, education, energy and the environment.

The publication includes articles written by journalists and experts in social technology, as well as a glossary and a sources? guide. ANDI has also organized eight meetings on social technology in the past year.

The book release is part of the V Expo Brazil Social Development, an event that gathers Internacional experts on December 5 to 8.
