RECYouth Multi-Media Festival 2006!!!

In order to showcase and celebrate RECYouth-produced work, we are proud to present the third annual RECYouth Multi Media Festival!!!

Thursday, August 24th, 2006,
Chelsea Clearview Cinema West
333 W. 23rd St, Manhattan
7pm, doors at 6pm

FREE! w/reservation (Contact us to reserve your seat!)

The festival will feature digital video and audio projects produced by NYC youth (19 and under) participating in RECYouth programs city-wide, selected by a jury of RECYouth participants and celebrity judges.

SUMMER MEDIA WORKSHOPS:
RECYouth Festival Media Workshops will take place throughout July and August and are free to youth ages 14-19. Pre-registration required. Check back regularly for updates. These workshops are free to youth 14-20.

VJ 101
- Learn from a professional VJ how to scratch video clips.

August 14th, 3:30-5:30pm
Improv and Acting
- New York actor and Blue Man Group member Michael Rahall teaches the finer points of acting and getting laughs.

MNN Youth Channel Block Party
- Join other youth organizations, media and music industry special guests for a summer block party. Featuring live performances, food, workshops and an outdoor screening.

REMIX Culture -
DJ, journalist and author Matt Mason teaches the history of the remix, and how to apply the concept anywhere.

Monty Ross Speaks -
Producer, actor and director Monty Ross, of 40 Acres & A Mule Productions talks about his work with Spike Lee and others.

Screening: Raising Victor Vargas -
Director Peter Sollett and co-writer Eva Vives present their award-winning film about a young man coming of age on the Lower East Side. The film was shot in and around the Hamilton Fish Recreation Center, so we're showing it there! Q & A to follow. Teens 13-17 must have written permission or be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

New Media Magazine -
Crème Magazine co-founders Dominga Martin and Gladymir Levèille founder talk about new media, marketing, design, and what it takes to get yourself out there. Learn how to create and take advantage of the opportunities offered to young people by new media.
