| Make sure kids are savvy about advertising | |

The average child views as many as 40,000 commercials a year, while the average 3-year-old recognizes 100 different brand logos. Dr. Robert Reiher, co-author of "Kidnapped: How Irresponsible Marketers are Stealing the Minds of Your Children," says methods like adver-gaming, which links games to advertisers' Web sites, are increasingly popular. And if there's a film coming out, "they'll have a line of products to go along with the movie," he says.
